 The National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations, based on the management philosophy of being “the trusted and reliable go-between linking producers and consumers,” has the major missions of enhancing the economic and social position of association members, contributing to Japanese agricultural and local societies and fulfilling the trust of consumers and trading partners.

 In order to accomplish this mission, this Federation recognizes that it has a social responsibility to properly handle association members’, consumers’, trading partners’ and all other persons’ personal information in the various activities of the Federation and will comply with the policy below.

  1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
     In order to properly handle personal information, the Federation will faithfully comply with its obligations pursuant to the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information” (hereinafter referred to as the “Protection Act”), other laws and regulations relating to the protection of personal information and the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission.
  2. Purpose of Use
     The purpose of use will be specified to the extent possible and personal information will be handled within the scope of the purpose of use excluding when the prior consent of the individual concerned has been obtained and when handled as an exception pursuant to laws and regulations.
  3. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information and Notice of the Purpose of Use
     The acquisition of personal information and the notification of the purpose of use, etc. will be undertaken by proper and legal means.
  4. Restrictions on the Provision to Third Parties
     Excluding when personal information must be handled as an exception pursuant to laws and regulations, personal information will not be provided to a third party without obtaining the prior consent of the individual concerned.
  5. Safety Management Measures
     The Federation will strive to maintain the most up-to-date and accurate handled personal information within the scope of the purpose of use and, additionally, will take appropriate measures and properly supervise business establishments and outsourcees required for safety management measures.
  6. Disclosure of Retained Personal Data
     The Federation will respond pursuant to laws and regulations to requests from the individual concerned for the notice of the purpose of use, disclosure, revision, addition, deletion, suspension of use or elimination of retained personal data.
  7. Processing Complaints
     The Federation will properly and promptly respond to complaints relating to handled personal information.
  8. Handling and Management Improvements
     The Federation will implement scheduled internal audits relating to the handling and management of personal information and strive to make improvements.
